Esther Myrick is the assistant director of Upward Bound. One of her roles is to ensure that once seniors turn the tassel at their high schools, they are ready for the next chapter in their lives. As we all know, the senior year is the most important year of a student’s high school career. Before caps and gowns are ordered, students need to be sure they have covered the following: taken the ACT/SAT, applied to colleges/universities, completed the FASFA, toured colleges/universities, applied for scholarships, and shadowed someone in their career fields. Esther is responsible for hiring, training, and supervising all teachers for the Upward Bound Summer Academy, as well as making sure class curriculum meets Indiana's state standards and peaking students' interest. She also develops and coordinates educational, social, career, and cultural program activities to make the Summer Academy one of learning, fun, and most importantly, self-development for students and staff!
